I re-discovered my user manual pdf. for TA:K and after a long read of the technical section I realize that I had forgotten about the hold shift for sending units across technical maps with twist and turns. Choose an appropriate unit-producing structure and hold the shift key down then click on the move icon. Still holding shift down cllick on the first point and then go to the next until you reach your final destination were you can either use the patrol option or keep it on the move option which will cause your units to build up there. Experiment to find what works for you. I found the PDF manual in the Kingdoms file. There is a lot more info such as creating squads and different formations as well. Have fun. I am.
