I need help balancing the mod, so I need 3 people to help me accomplish this.

We'll start with one race. Each modder will take one tier and balance the units according to other players' experiences.

We can get a race done in no time with 4 people working on it.
So who's up for it?

We'll go in order:

Aramon
Veruna
Creon
Taros
Zhon

Tell me which tier you would like to work on. I'll start with Aramon tier 1. Remember that there are also water units and structures per tier.

Awesome, you guys can start by downloading the "Programs to Mod" folder here: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=98dfb0a4c405b272&id=98DFB0A4C405B272%21130

This contains all the necessary programs to edit the units.
All you need is hpi view and hpi pack.

View the NewEra.hpi with hpi view, go to file, extract all.

We are only going to edit the units in the unitscb folder. (crusade balance)

You can open the units file with "Text Document".

From there, you will see all the unit stats. Once you have a unit edited, you can use hpi pack to pack the unit as: for example, araelsin.hpi

All you will have in this .hpi file is the unitscb folder with the txt file of the unit you have edited.

To test it, simply put this new .hpi file in the units folder in c:/ cavedog/ kingdoms/ units

Launch the tak switcher, go to the units tab, and select it.


Note: Remember we are only editing broken files, and the 3rd party units that need some serious balance. And write down what kind of changes you have made to the units.

I think every single New Era unit needs its own topic of discussions about how to balance it. After a week, a poll will be added to the respective topic of that New Era unit and the poll options will be the suggestions of our community about how to buff/nerf that unit. The poll should run for 1-2 weeks and the mostly voted change(s) will be made to the respective New Era unit.

I know this needs tons of topics and tons of work, however this is the only true way of greatly improving and balancing New Era. We must work as a whole and not seperated.

The modders have the free will to do whatever they want with the units; however, they do need to post the changes they have made. We will release a new version of the mod after finishing up with a race. Then, you guys can post about it and see what will need improvement.

I want to see what the modders can come up with. They also need to view units from other races from the same tiers as a way of finding the right balance.
