| Hello people!
I'm a Kingdoms player from long before I acquired an internet connection.
As well I'm a computer programmer, I have twenty three years old and I'm from Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul.
I have played TAK online on GameSpy Arcade era.
Hope to have a good relationship with you all.
Thanks! | |

| Welcome GabrielMR to our forum. I am DeeKay, the forum admin. I am brazilian too, as a lot of TA:K players are, and if you need anything just call me and I'll answer you as fast as possible. Why don't you come and play online with us at GameRanger? I'd love to meet you there. Make yourself at home, and thank you for joining our community. | |

| Hi and welcome!
A computer programmer! Nice...more game mods or maybe a new program( TAF editor ) or updates to the engine or another online player? The possibilities.

| The possibilities? There are too many; But I like to play without mods, perhaps if we can make a new patch for TA:Kingdoms, I can (or not) correct some things on the game. The original manual of the game say that dragons can load and unload units, a thing I never saw on the final release, and I can do. A good thing to put on the game is a new icon for MoveFight command, however I don't make any ideias how to do this, at last for the time being. | |

| We can almost decompile and edit any file type in TAK except for one and that is the TAF file which is a JPEG version of the GAF file. I and maybe the community would love to create and see new explosions, weapon animations and so on, much like TA has. The difference is TA still uses GAF whereas TAK both GAF and TAF, but the TAK engine does not use GAF like TA. Maybe one day a bored community member will make a TAF editor much like GAFbuilder. | |

| Basically, we need a way to edit TAF format images? | |

| I don't have time now to make an advanced search,
But here is good information, a GAF viewer who can open TAF format:
http://www.tauniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23594
And hints about how to "mount" the pixels and colors using hexa codes.
PS: If we already have this tool and I don't know, sorry.

| I've tried this tool once and it didn't open .taf files, nor could open TA:K .gaf colored correctly. Though, after reading GabrielMR's post, I searched more about this GAF Viewer and... Good news. I found the GAF Viewer 1.2 Source Code. If you guys want to mess around it with: Download GAF Viewer 1.2 Source Code It seems to be written in pascal.
I don't know much about programming, but I intend to learn more about it. Who knows someday I develop some programs for TA:K. hehe

| A gaf viewer that can read and edit Taf files? I read those posts at TAuniverse but have not seen any of the old project files they were working on.
Ya that GafViewer program is buggy. Does not want to open TAF files and sometimes GAF files.

| I will take a look at this source code when I have more time, although I don't have any experience with image manipulation programs. | |

| If gafviewer's pascal programming language does not work for you, you could try the sourcecode for gafbuilder which I think is written in VB. The gafbuilder sourcecode might be here or found at the TA site Visual Designs. | |

It's 1.0 version though.
