| Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to make TAK mods, Im not sure where to start, if there are any tutorials or how to go about it.
I have some skills in photoshop, 3ds max and am learning unity/c#
was the source code for TAK ever released to the public?
any advice/resources would be appreciated,
Thanks, | |

| Hi APM,
Plenty of resources and knowledge on this site under various posts or other sites. Use the search tool, download the various programs needed such as hpiview, hpipack and others from one of the other sites and then practice.

| Scroll down on this page http://alltakdownloads.6te.net/Downloads/All%20TAK%20Downloads.php and find the useful tools section, the "All Tools Pack" probably has all of the tools that are listed that site. You'll want to start by getting familiar with all the tak formats, extracting&creating hpi files (ta/tak archive format, like .zip), and then the actual game file fomarts inside them by opening them with the tools you downloaded. If you have trouble with one of the formats, if you ask on the forums here someone probably will be able to help And no the tak source code was never released, sadly | |

| Also the reference bibles contain a lot of useful information on the game formats, I found it simpler to just mess with the tools to understand them, but if you're the reading type... http://warriorhut.org/spring/documentation/TAReferenceBible25.doc (ta and tak) http://artec.si/Maps/TotalAnnihilationKingdomsReference.pdf (tak only) | |

| Yes, it is broken, but it is the same thing as TA Reference bible starting from 185 page, they cut it from there. Just use TA Reference bible then. ^^ Also, if you need more help/directions talk to me, I have a lot of experience on modding too. | |
