Yeah, I watched it, but the destruction of the bridge looked kinda fake. Overall is looking pretty cool.

Feels too much like Lords of the Realm III, only with magic. I'm skeptical as well.

as long as it is more like a RTS than a RPG im fine. a mix of the 2 is ok but it needs to stay at a RTS game genera. micro managing and having your king be a force to be recond with but not a god.

Indeed, I was mostly content with the way Warcraft III came out, but I would have preferred some slight alterations and more emphasis on grand strategies than micro-managing.

Sup comm has upgradeable commanders and a couple of other units which can, but that's it. I'm sure it'll be very similar to that.

Hopefully the sides are all totally different like in TAK. The Supreme Commander sides all looked quite different but played pretty much the same. Wonder how many sides are in it? Should be at least three really - a standard Medieval Aramon/Veruna equiv, a mental steampunk Creon equiv, and a magic-heavy side. All specialising in a specific "element". That's how i want it, anyway.

Wow. Just seeing this. lol.
My only big hope is that they don't revert to the multiple-resource system. The great thing about TAK, and the sole reason I was able to get into it, is because you have to keep up with mana, and that's ALL. None of this gold, wood, stone, population, commanders, civilians, lions, tigers, bears bullshit...

sorry but they're doing 2 resouces, gold and stone apparantly. Most see just 1 resource as a disadvantage to the game

.........................well. I will most likely not be playing then. Don't get me wrong...I'll try....but I hate having to keep up with resources. TAK is the only RTS I've ever really gotten into for that reason. And I've played Age of Mythologies, Starcraft, Warcraft, Civilization, Age of Empires, etc. Good games....but I never really got into any of them.

Hey I just checked the video blogs and in #29 they revealed some of the factions and more importantly what the mons are gonna be, its most interesting that theres gonna be "the huntress" aka thirsha, "dark wizard" aka lokken, "paladin - the just king" aka elsin, 4th is warrior and 5th I can't make out but it looks like godfather? They also call the kings monachs now so the tak lingo won't be outdated - "mon in mid"

Personally, I believe that TAK was abandoned by its own creators. Both Chris Tailor and the Cavedog company in general didn't respect their TAK, they let it be reviewed unfairly, they didn't advertise it enough and, after the Iron Plague's release, they decided to close down their bussiness. I strongly believe that they had gained enough money from TA in order to survive as a company. In my opinion, Cavedog closed because of stupid quarrels between the Cavedog's team. As a result, both TA and TAK survive today just because of their fans who support them. However, while Total Annihilation was in the video game market for a long time and it has gained a lot of fans, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms was abandoned early, leaving just a small elite of funs (I am talking about us) to take care of it. Such a sad story... such an underestimated game... and such a huge responsibility for us...

Chris Taylor was involved with tak; it's in the wikipidia site. He left because of what tak was going to become. Cavedog released it anyways and went under rated. Tak was going to be the shit. Too bad Cavedog didn't let Taylor handle it.
Did you check out the cannoner and catapult?
* Dear community members, I have recently seen the videos related to "Kings and Castles" and I have to say that I am pretty dissapointed. I think that Cris Taylor's new fantasy RTS will be really cool game, but it won't be "TA:Kingdoms 2", not 1 in a million. First of all, the land doesn't really look like Darien and the supposed Elsin is on horse and doesn't seem like Elsin at all. Even if they balance all the "unbalances" of TAK but there is no Darien, Garacaius, Elsin, Kirenna, Thirsa, Lokken, Aramon, Taros, Veruna, Zhon, Creon, Emen the Messenger, Solan Rixx, Zargolin etc., then there would be no TAK at all! A good upcoming game, but not TAK. * And something else, please stop talking about Cris Taylor like he is the wise sage who knows everything! Just because he was the leader of Cavedog's TA designing team doesn't mean that he made TA by himself and he wasn't always right. He had become too arrogant if you ask me, that's why he left Cavedog, a genius like him had to open his own company, LOL! We have seen Cris Taylor's skill with Supreme Commander, which was worse than Total Annihilation in both story and gameplay {notice that I don't say Supreme Commander was bad}. If Cris Taylor was out of TA:Kingdoms designing team that was definately a good thing (he obviously would like to add more resources and reduce the races to 2 or 3, and that would totally ruin the TAK experience). * TA:Kingdoms has unique units and strategies, 5 totaly different races, a single resource (mana), the most epic RTS storyline ever, the amazing world of Darien, various and different maps and other little features which make it different from any other RTS game. There are plenty other RTS games with more resources, less races, worse storylines. Just live TAK alone, we love this game because it is what it is, nothing more, nothing less.
By the way, I have just found why most TAers hate TA:Kingdoms to death. A TAer, after hearing that TA is underrated, he posts the following in an uknown forum: "Underrated {he means TA}? Most people I know know of and love the game, and I seem to remember it got a lot of good press. If anything caused it to withdraw into obscurity it'd have to be the shitness of TA: Kingdoms and the subsequent demise of Cavedog, surely." Obviously, they think TA:K is responsible for Cavedog's collapse, the TA's low popularity {personally I find it quite popular} and the lack of a TA 2 sequel. That's juat explains why they flame TA:K in each opportunity they find, and with the zealous way of a priest who burns a witch!
Finally, I would like to say that I pity those who think that TA:K sucks. They have no idea what life experience have just thrown away! They have no taste at all, poor creatures! I am not sarcastic right now, I mean every single word...
