| GROUPED MANA ONLY. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON CD/DC MAPS.
I'm about to lay some knowledge on you guys. This strategy is the reason Dos/Soma and I won nearly every 2v2/3v3. It's a very easy strategy to employ and guarantees a win if you can execute it.
Step 1: Zhon and Taros are a must to use this strategy, no exceptions. Third race doesn't matter.
Step 2: Playing defensive is a must, you MUST protect Zhon at all costs as they are very vulnerable in this strat.
Step 3: Taros must give Zhon one of their early builders, the earlier the better.
Step 4: Wait until Zhon has a Temple and starts pumping out Lich's.
Step 5: Load 5-7 Lich's and drop them on enemy mana.
Step 6: Watch as you steamroll the enemy and they can't do anything to stop you.
In-Depth Zhon build order:
When the game starts demand a builder from Taros. Build a lodestone with Thirsha, after it's done build a Handler. When the Handler is done have it start building a Tamer, when it starts building the Tamer have Thirsha build it and switch the Handler to finish your mana. You should have the Taros builder when your Handler stars on the mana, have the Taros builder help finish the mana and then have it build a Cabal. When the Handler is done with the mana, have it build Hunters.
When the Tamer is finished have it start building a Beast Lord, when it starts switch Thirsha to the Beast Lord and have the Tamer build a Basilisk, then a Gryphon for some Line of Sight and to kill birds.
When the Cabal is done, build 3 more Taros Builders, have the first start a temple and have the others help when they are built. Start building Zombies and MOVE them (Not patrol or Move!=Fight) to the other side of the map. They are there to help delay your enemies.
When the Beast Lord is finished have it build a Roc, then have it build a Stone Giant. Switch Thirsha to help build the Temple.
When the temple is finished have it build Lich's, Make sure the lich's move to an area where they are hard to see. have Thirsha help build the Lich's.
After the Stone Giant is finished, spam build Rocs. When you have 5 Lich's, start dropping them on key locations. Your first priority is Mana, second is Anti-Air units like archers, Third is Trebs, and Fourth is buildings.
When you drop the lich's make sure you select them and have them attack the ground, this is very important or else they will run off in different dirrections and attack random stuff. Select them and have them attack the ground closest to your primary target.
Continue dropping Lich's, you should have a steady stream of drops coming, one after the other, with 5-7 lich's all attacking their AoE will do ALOT of damage to everything they hit. If you do not win the game you did something wrong.
The first lich drop will cripple them, they will not be able to recover because you will be constantly sending in drops one after another, there is no down time.
Things that stop this:
Zhon getting shut down early will pretty much ensure a loss, the key to this is protecting Zhon long enough for them to get Lich's.
If the game drags on too long it can get hard to drop before the Roc dies, if they have too much AA then you can try hiding your roc inside other rocs/birds.
Nothing.

| That's an interesting strategy, White. Now you behave more like a player and less like a thit talker. However, always remember that there is always a strategy to fight another strategy, so if your opponent behaves cleverly or in an unpredictable way (something which is not rare in TA:K) your tactics will fail. That's why there is no such thing like perfect strategy. In every kind of strategy game, your success has not only to do with yourself and your tactics, but it has also to do with your opponent and his/her crafty plans. In order to completely prove that you are not a thit-talker, you must return and amaze us with some of your impressive strategies. However, as long as you say you do not play because you have better things to do, you will always sound like an I-am-afraid-to-play-TAK-because-I-will-get-raped person. Just come back to prove yourself. You have free time to make huge posts in this forum but you don't have the free time to play TA:K! This is strange... | |

| I guess it looks very good strat, many lichs can do a impressive damage in a base. Their range and attack are pretty good, idk if has some bonus against building but it looks make a damage even bigger.
Better to know is that worked in pratice, i would like try to defend of this strategy once that is a fast and devastating. Like you said i guess the better points are annihilate the game asap but consciously or try to make it longer once you have built a defense that hold it, and then be prepare for other thing coming. The problem is, that the enemy are using tar and zhon. From this point many strategies can be used if this dont work.
Anyway if the game persist it will be a long game. A good game ^^

* Lol, Landherr, that made my day! Lol, again!* Landherr, you are so right about TA:K being such a fun game! I don't think that Microsoft's Age of Something series or Blizzard's Somethingcraft series are boring, they are interesting and fun too, however they are much less amazing that Cavedog's Total Annihilation Series (especially Total Annihilation: Kingdoms!). Even White himself admitted TA:K is extremely fun to play. I also want to mention that the balance of a game is not only in maths. The impressive thing TA:K managed to do is to create a balanced game with a completely unorthodox way, something that doesn't happen often in RTS games. * I don't understand why people believe Wisps, Dark Hands, Giant Barracudas, Grenadiers etc. are so useless. In TA:K every unit does something or has something that no other unit has! Mana needs management, but it allows you to spend it again and again (since it is infinite) so don't be afraid to build a one-use unit which is good or excellent in dealing with a certain situation.
