| What is the difference between squads (CTRL1-9) and formations (ALT1-9)? Couldn't find any, is there?.. | |

| try both them and move, atack, selected them you will see difference so: squads (ctrl) are "lighter" than formations (alt) squads are like in many other games (SC WC), units under squad are in this number when you click (they're all selected), formations are "harder" connection between units -units try move together -units with faster speed get the slowest in the formation (cause of above thing (so its sux if u have formations with horseman and catapults, anyway almost no one use formations, and sometimes squads (to easier selection) btw if you find some nice to way to use formations tell us (formation for me look useless, cause this might be useless or i don't find a good way to use this "selection") | |

| funny was thinking about this these days
you can fake units speed with formation, like making a formation with 5 knights and 1 swordsman... it can confuse the opponent if he pays attention to the minimap... same as faking ur thirsha's speed, etc |

| I don't think many people would look at mini map and think hmmm.. they are coming at me slow must be swordsmen :/ Could be good if you wanted ranged units (which are faster) to stay behind melee units. But I would much rather just micro manage.X | |

| Automatons are excellent meat shields, they can protect your precious Beast Riders, Tortoises, Wagons etc. if in formation and in front of your rest units. Better having an Automaton being shot by Treb, Cannon etc. rather than your Beast Rider, isn't it? Also, Automatons have loooong death animations, occupying/blocking their standing ground while dying and blocking any movement, making melee units difficult to reach your heavy artillery. | |

| but i think that small units protect only against flat shots (fire demon, cannoners) not by some "height" shots (stone giant trebuchet) or "very height shot (catapult mortars), anyway automatons sux, they probably good only hmm against drop trolls, (but still better lots of fire wagons) anyway that game need some 20 koreans(or other type no lifes) from payment league to discover something new , or just we need to play some cd/dc maps more (as cavedog probably thought about that game (offscreen etc) ) | |

| Flat-shot units (Cannoners, Musketeers, Fire Deamons) are the main arsenal of 90% of TAKers, so it is a great advantage. Automatons are far from useless; the fact they are the cheapest Creonite fightning unit is a serious advantage if you know when/where to use it; I speak out of experience and, despite of being noob, I try different things with Creon and I know more Creonite tricks & synnergies than the average TAKer. However, I think I've blocked Treb shots with Automatons once, I am not 100% sure. And we don't need Koreans; any nationality would do the job. | |

| dont worry about omw arthan, he thinks koreans own any pc game without ever playing it, even if many of them have tried in both TA and TAK and they were never the best (and some of them were good at other games)
its like "ah koreans can use many wisps sucessfully", lool they cant even use their monarch well come on... and anyone can discover new stuff, the problem is actually making it popular. also, interesting to read about death animation, sometime ago manolo told me he chose to make guard tower shadows because its death animation is long. today even details like this can make difference, im just not sure how to learn more about animations
ps: just played with a moron who thinks 3v3 is 1v1+1v1+1v1... thats not being bad at tak thats being stupid. "if you are best ever u can hold 3 alone" ye hold kirenna,thirsha,warriors and lagging lokken within 1min as zhon in a small 3rd party map, and i didnt even lose any unit. if you wanna talk shit how about 1v1ing me? or bringing someone to 1v1 me? if you cant pls chill and have fun |

i just know theres quite a few of them who were very good at other games (call it korean mode idk), and still got owned in tak and ta... then i guess TAK isnt a pc game lol |

| there is possible to make much more than 10 groups/squads
just look at keys.TDF
and make for example: ctrl q = CreateSquad 11; lower q = RetrieveSquad 11; upper q = RetrieveSquad 11;
or for squads example ctrl q = CreateSquad 11 formation;
P.S after testing i discover that game engine can handle to 99 groups (range from 1 to 99, 0 can't be squad)
Edit I didn't achieve succes with MapBookmarkRetrieve N , probably there is only 1-4 bookmarkretrieve | |

War secrets should never be revealed :p) we (pro's thank for that description) use usually not many squads, i (for example) use 1-3 for special units (dragon, tierlast and some other) and other for drops usually i think 5 would be enough for me, but sometimes i would need 15-20 for "take whole game" (ogarnięcie) but 10 from origianl game seems enough for everything so, nvm 10 its good, but sometimes can;t be enough | |

| dont worry about that... just be aware that it exists, then use it if u feel its worthy it
i particularly never use ctrl+5 plus, i rarely use more than ctrl+1 and ctrl+2. i dont edit keys.tdf for squads either |

| hmm i think no one use squads and groups for factories, but maybe somebody use it
i just unlike that units produced by factory are in that group (which should be consider as advantage but not for me)
